2012 National Convention

The Power of Music

Sinfonians rehearse at 2006 Sinfonia WindsThe theme of the 2012 National Convention is "The Power of Music." True to that theme, the event will be infused with more music than ever before. A total of four major ensembles will be available to all brothers in attendance. These ensembles are the 1898 Jazz Orchestra, the Sinfonian Wind Ensemble, the Sinfonia String Orchestra, and the Men of Song Chorus.

The Sinfonia Educational Foundation is committed to helping these ensembles flourish. Travel grants and direct support to the Fraternity to help fund these programs will be provided by the SEF. The result will be a musical experience unlike any other.

Travel Grants

In 2006, at the inception of the Sinfonian Wind Ensemble, the SEF was able to provide five travel grants to brothers totaling over $2,000. The tangible benefit these grants had on the recipients was reflected not just in their attendance at the event, but the way they viewed their music and their Fraternity. Attendance at a national event can mean to a brother than can be put into words, and the lasting effects can stretch throughout his whole life. The SEF is proud to continue to offer support to brothers traveling to national events in order to empower and inspire them with the power such events hold. To view the recipients click here...
