A new award is being launched!
The Signature Sinfonian award recognizes alumni members who have achieved a high standard of accomplishment in their field or profession, thereby bringing honor to Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Alumni in any profession, occupation or service work are eligible for nomination. Members initiated as National Honorary or awarded the Man of Music Award will be named as a Signature Sinfonian without nomination or selection. Service to Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia as a member at any level is not a criterion for the award and should not be listed.
HOW TO NOMINATE: Nominations must consist of a completed application and a resume or summary of the nominee’s past and present occupations and positions, professional and/or civic activities and honors or awards received. Additional documentation may be submitted with the resume. Both the nominating member and nominee must be in good standing with the Fraternity.
All Signature Sinfonian recipients will receive a medallion, lapel pin and a framed certificate. In addition, all new recipients will have their names listed in the fall issue of The Gold (within The Sinfonian). All future references to the member in a national publication will be listed with the “Gothic S” to indicate their signature status. At the request of the recipient, an award ceremony will be arranged by the National Headquarters in correlation with a province, chapter or alumni association event.
Nominations must be received no later than May 1, 2007 to be considered. Nomination forms can be downloaded at www.sinfonia.org/resources/forms/signature.pdf. Please contact the National Headquarters if you have any questions.
