Essay Contest: The Effects of Hazing

The Sinfonian is pleased to announce an essay contest on the topic of THE EFFECTS OF HAZING. You could be published in the Fraternity’s official magazine!

The contest is open to collegiate brothers and recent alumni (last 5 years). Submissions for the essay contest must follow these specifications:

Suggested Themes:

    • When and how were you first convinced of the harms of hazing? How have you worked to eradicate hazing?
    • How has your life been personally affected by hazing?
Whether affected directly (yourself a victim) or indirectly (you know a hazing victim), what was the effect on your life? What did you have to do to overcome the effects of hazing? The hazing could have been as part of joining Greek organizations, high school/college bands, high school/college athletics, etc.

Winning essays will be selected on the basis of the quality of the writing and the emotional impact of the story. Winning essays will be published in the May 2007 issue of The Sinfonian.

Put your thoughts, experiences and opinions into an essay and be sure to submit it by January 15!
