Two important changes have occurred in the membership of the Fraternity’s National Executive Committee.
Micah White, Nu Psi (Shenandoah) ’01, was removed from his position as National Collegiate Representative by the NEC on September 19, 2008. The NEC removed Brother White from his position for conduct unworthy of a member of the National Executive Committee. This action does not affect Brother White’s membership status in the Fraternity in any way, but it vacates the position of National Collegiate Representative, effective immediately. The National Executive Committee has decided not to seek to fill this vacancy at this time.
Bincins Garcia, Omicron Pi (Cal State-Fullerton) ’00, was elected on August 19, 2008, by the NEC to fill the vacancy in the position of Committeeman-At-Large formerly held by Derek Danilson, Beta Nu (Northern Iowa) 91. In November 2007, Danilson stepped down from this position in order to take on the presidency of the Sinfonia Educational Foundation.
Brother Garcia is currently the Province Governor of Province 22, Southern California. As a collegiate member of the Omicron Pi Chapter, he served in the offices of secretary, vice president and president. He continued his leadership involvement by being elected to CPR of Province 22, and was thereafter appointed province governor in 2005. He received his Bachelor in Music Education from California State University-Fullerton and his Masters degree in instrumental conducting from Southern Oregon University. He is currently Director of Bands at Esperanza High School in Anaheim, California. Brother Garcia may be reached at committeeman-bg@sinfonia.org.
