Signature Sinfonian and Volunteer of the Year – Nominations Now Being Accepted

Nominations are now being accepted for the 2009 Signature Sinfonian class of recipients and Volunteer of the Year.

The Signature Sinfonian recognizes alumni members who have achieved a high standard of accomplishment in their field or profession, thereby bringing honor to Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia. Alumni in any profession, occupation or service work are eligible for nomination. 

Nominations must be received no later than April 1, 2009 to be considered for this year. Nominations must consist of a completed application and a resume or summary of the nominee’s past and present occupations and positions, professional and/or civic activities and honors or awards received. Service to Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia as a member at any level is not a criterion for the award and should not be listed. 

Since 2006, 16 Signature Sinfonians have been recognized, including:

  • Don Campbell, author of The Mozart Effect
  • Maynard Ferguson, world-renowned Jazz trumpeter
  • Andy Griffith, award winning actor and musician
  • Dr. William C. Moffit, marching band innovator
