Beginning in 2013, we asked that chapters and alumni brothers “Sing as One” on Founder’s Day, by performing group and individual Mills Music Missions on October 6.  This was a planned preview of the theme of our 55th National Convention, and much more.  We ask again this year that each chapter, colony and alumni association, and any individual brothers or small ensembles who are so inclined, honor Father Mills by performing a Mills Music Mission on Founder’s Day.  Will you join us?

Please consider the impact of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity bringing its full resources to bear in providing the gift of music to those who need it most, on every campus and metropolitan area across the country, in one mass demonstration of the power of music.  The Mills Music Mission is the best way to honor our Founder, and his legacy, because it commemorates the “Music and Flower Missions” that Ossian E. Mills himself organized and carried out across the hospitals of Boston before the founding of Sinfonia. We can show the world the meaning of Sinfonia in the most powerful and effective way available to us–by joining together to Sing as One.

We can make a forceful statement attesting to music’s important role in the enrichment of the human spirit, brothers.  Please join in the effort, and let us know how you participated by sending in pictures, video and/or audio clips of your MMMs.  File a formal Mills Music Mission report on our webform and help us promote Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity in the best possible way by honoring the memory, vision and hopefulness of Ossian Everett Mills.

Brother Lichtenberg has issued a call to all Sinfonians to celebrate Founder’s Day by performing a Mills Music Mission on October 6, or if that is not possible, by performing your MMM during the weekend before, the week of, or the weekend following Founder’s Day.  Don’t be left out this year, brothers!  Add your collective voices to our combined efforts to win the world to Harmony, and Sing as One!
