Completely re-envisioned as a core Fraternity education component, Leadership Institute 2016 is now guided more than ever by the principles and values expressed in the Ritual. Featuring two new educational components that focus entirely on the education, development, and training of chapter officers, participation is an unique and excellent opportunity to grow both as a Sinfonian as well as a leader. In addition to the Leadership Institute program, there are two independent Pre-Conferences that begin on June 21 that seek to better prepare and educate chapter officers and the future leaders of Sinfonia. For the first time since 1964, chapter presidents will gather from across the country to discuss the challenges that face them and provide feedback to the Fraternity and our National Officers, in the newly established Council of Chapter Presidents Pre-conference. National President Lichtenberg will share the Fraternity’s goals and vision for the new triennium, and will lead the assembled chapter presidents in interactive discussions of our programs and of the challenges that face today’s chapter president, with the goal of identifying strategies and solutions for overcoming them.

Simultaneously, this year brings the debut of our newly-designed Chapter Officer Forum Pre-conference, which offers an “A-to-Z” immersive training experience to all chapter officers and provides a direct opportunity for them to exchange ideas and leadership techniques with peer officers from other chapters from around the country. Brothers will get a first look at the new tools, programs, and resources to be introduced in the Fall 2016 semester, and hands-on guidance in how to use them effectively to improve chapter operations and health.

The 2016 Leadership Institute will take place on the campus of the University of Southern Indiana, located in Evansville, Indiana. Attendees will enjoy spacious residence and dining facilities, and will be given the opportunity to visit various Evansville venues, including our National Headquarters. The campus of the University of Southern Indiana is beautifully landscaped and offers plenty of wide-open outdoor spaces conducive to serious conversations or simple relaxation.

All attending brothers will develop valuable, practical, and insightful leadership skills, specifically in the areas of personal accountability, growth, and fraternal development all while being inspired by meaningful discussions on the best ways to establish and maintain an environment that supports and nurtures the development of the truest fraternal spirit in all members.

In addition, brothers will have the opportunity to join the Men of Song Chorus for an unparalleled experience of Brotherhood in Music, all while chapter officers gain new insights into the proper execution of their duties, while learning valuable new skills that can be applied immediately to improve their chapters. All participants will experience a tangible brotherhood that exceeds expectations and exposes a richer, deeper and more rewarding understanding of the true nature of our Fraternity through meeting and getting to know Sinfonians from chapters across the Fraternity: to come away with new friends, an inspired sense of the breadth and reach of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, and a renewed zeal for the Fraternity, our Object and the vision of our Founders.
