Important Notice From President Mark Lichtenberg
It is with great concern for our Brotherhood, and with firm resolve to protect it, that I must inform you of a very troubling matter which requires immediate emergency action. While there will be immediate changes in leadership and spending limitations are imposed at the national level, measures will be put in place to ensure that the organization can continue to operate without interruption, and chapters should continue to function as usual.
I am exploring ways that this can conclude without damaging the health, welfare, and reputation of our Fraternity. It is clear that the Fraternity’s system of governance is broken, and in the coming days and weeks, I will share with you my proposal for Direct Chapter Representation, allowing chapters to recover control of their Fraternity and voting privileges at National Conventions.
I regret that I have been put in a position to have to issue this type of report to the Fraternity. In spite of this news I challenge all Sinfonians to continue to advance our Object and ideals at the local level: share the power of music with one another and your communities; participate in the Mills Music Mission; gather together as Brothers and support each other; and always strive to Sing as One.
