On January 3, 2022, Brother Mike Nicholson (Sigma Alpha Chapter – University of Massachusetts-Amherst – 2013) was sworn in for his second term as the Mayor of Gardner, Massachusetts.
Brother Nicholson was first elected in June 2020 as part of a special election in which he received 70% of the votes cast. He hopes that in this second term he can build upon his accomplishments over the past term, including record investments in the city’s infrastructure, increased outreach and transparency, and the re-establishment of the elementary school band program.
“Gardner is my home, and I am dedicated to helping grow our community by attracting new businesses and residents,” said Nicholson.
He stated that he is looking forward to continuing the momentum built during his first term by boosting economic development in the city, revitalizing the downtown, and increasing educational opportunities for local students.
The inauguration ceremony featured performances by the Gardner High School Select Choir and the Gardner Middle School Bobcat Chorus.
We wish you the best in your second term, Brother.
