Phi Mu Alpha’s National President, Mark Lichtenberg, has extended early registration pricing for the 57th National Convention one extra month. The new early registration deadline is now April 1, 2022.
This change is in light of the pending National Council vote to alter the voting body, known as the National Assembly, for the upcoming National Convention in St. Louis. The National Council will vote whether or not to temporarily change the Fraternity’s Bylaws to include the National Council as part of the National Assembly.
Due to constitutional restrictions, the President is currently unable to appoint new Province Governors and subsequently allow the election of Collegiate Province Representatives. His hope is that the use of the National Council will provide a more representative body for the upcoming election rather than letting several Provinces and Chapters go without direct representation.
President Lichtenberg felt it prudent to extend the early registration pricing given the potential involvement of a voting representative from each chapter, which will most likely result in increased collegiate attendance.
