CALL TO THE FIFTY-EIGHTH NATIONAL CONVENTION

Dear Brothers,

By virtue of the power vested in me as National President, I hereby appoint Wednesday, July 23, through Friday, July 25, 2025, as the days in which all duly accredited delegates to the National Assembly shall comprise the Fifty-Eighth National Convention of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity. Due to the Fraternity’s practical and financial circumstances, for the first and prayerfully only instance, the National Convention will be held virtually except for the members of the National Executive Committee. Furthermore, I hereby call a meeting of the National Executive Committee for the 2025 – 2028 triennium on Sunday morning, July 27, at 9:00 a.m., Sinfonia Time (CDT). All Brothers of the newly-elected NEC will be required to travel to Lyrecrest by Sunday morning to attend this meeting.

The Fraternity’s Council of Province Governors and Council of Collegiate Province Representatives will meet separately in caucus sessions, with the Province Governors meeting at 6:00 p.m. ST and the Collegiate Province Representatives meeting at 8:00 p.m. ST, on Thursday, July 24. The opening session of the National Assembly will be called to order at 8:00 a.m., ST on Wednesday, July 23. The National Assembly will meet during the Convention as required until all the business before it has been properly addressed.

The National Assembly will consider changes to our governing documents and other Fraternity business and will elect a National President, National Vice President, Committeeman-at-Large, and National Collegiate Representative.

The formal Opening Ceremonies of the Fifty-sixth National Convention of Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia Fraternity will begin on Wednesday morning, July 23, 2024, at 8:00 a.m., ST. The Convention will conclude at the close of business on Friday, July 25. I call on all Brother Sinfonians who can join us virtually to do so.

Convention attendance is open to all members in good standing. Collegiate members of chapters who are not in good standing, whether due to unfiled reports or non-payment of Convention Tax, will not be eligible for registration until all chapter obligations have been met and the chapter is restored to good standing.

Imagine a world without song, a world without music, a world without harmony. This is the world we approach the longer we walk the path of inactivity and self-serving membership. This virtual convention is a call for all members to remember their oath and work to preserve our ideals and mission. Brothers, it is no easy task to call for our most treasured national event in this manner, but it is necessary to continue the Fraternity’s sacred mission of winning the world to Harmony. Let us take only a few moments to mourn this disruption of precedent and then commit to the provision of all the Man Power, Music Power, and Money Power to fellow Sinfonians that we can muster. This may be our present reality, but it is not our foretold destiny. Through determination and steadfastness to our goals, we will more than restore Sinfonia, but reach every lofty heights as an organization and as a Brotherhood. With sincerity of intent, true Sinfonians shall see this through.

I urge all chapters to contact your alumni and encourage them to virtually attend this National Convention and to Live for Sinfonia. I am calling ALL Brothers to join us this July and ensure that  Sinfonia will Live in You!

So let it be for Sinfonia!

Fraternally yours,
In Phi, Mu, Alpha,

Kyle C. Coleman
National President
