

During its 75th Annual State Conference, the Wyoming Music Educators Association named Brother Brian Redmond (Beta Sigma Chapter – 2003) the 2022 Music Educator of the Year.
The purpose of this award is to recognize and honor a WMEA member for excellence in music education. The award is made to individuals who have served their students, schools, and communities in an exemplary way. Nominees must have taught seven years and be a current music educator from any level in a school, college, or university in Wyoming.
Brother Redmond directs the concert, marching, and jazz bands at Rock Springs High School. In 2017, he was named theRock Springs High School Teacher of the Year for how he strives to create high-quality musical ensembles while honoring and developing his students’ unique interests and talents. He is a proud graduate of the University of Idaho, and he hopes to build a legacy of excellence through his work that will extend beyond music, empowering his students to become leaders in their post-high school lives.
According to Rock Springs High School Principal Glen Suppes, Redmond is “one of the most hard-working, genuine, honest, caring and fun-loving guys” and that Redmond “does everything he can for the kids.”
